Choosing the Perfect Floor

Garage floors are not laid with the same care or quality as flooring in the the rest of the home. Concrete floors can easily become damp, if not sealed properly as well as crack and show pock marks making them look unsightly.
Applying a floor covering protects against stains, road salts, hides blemishes, looks stylish and is easy to clean.

There are a number of coverings to choose from including timber, raised flooring, carpet resin and tiles. We believe the simplest and most cost effective solution is tiles.

Advantages of using PVC tiles.

  • Easy to install interlocking tiles means a double garage can be covered in one day and used straight away.

  • As PVC is waterproof you don’t need to damp proof your concrete before laying but you may wish to so that the concrete doesn’t discolour beneath the tiles.

  • They are designed to handle heavy loads so are ideal if you use your garage to park your car or as a workshop with heavy mobile tool cabinets and car jacks.

  • The snap together design allows you to create custom designs through the use of a variety of colours meaning you can add your personal flair and style into your new garage.

  • As the tiles are laid individually it is easy to replace individuals that may have become damaged. A much more cost effective solution compared to a carpet or resin where the entire floor would need replacing.

Porcelain tiles for added style

If you are looking to utilise your garage as a lifestyle room PVC floor tiles may feel too industrial for you. Porcelain tiles provide a stronger noise and draft barrier than their PVC counterparts and look more stylish to. Although a more expensive option, porcelain tiles are incredibly hard wearing making them long lasting and a good investment over time.
